In a world where everything goes fast, where the pressure and the number of things we impose on our to-do list never get shorter, stress has become normal, even commonplace. But it's only a matter of time before an intervention takes place to force you to slow down. It can take any form; relationship failure, addictions, illness, accident or any other inconvenience that will serve as a warning signal.
Because it is devastating and prevents us from having a satisfying life, it is essential to position ourselves at the top of our to-do list.
Obviously, there are sources of stress everywhere: work, traffic, the constant vibration of our phone, managing children and family life, etc. But if today you just took a break…no alarm, no schedule and time to daydream. Whether you give yourself permission to finish your book, take a hot bath, daydream, or make that recipe you love so much but takes a long time to make. You know what makes you feel good and that you love deeply, so make room for that and if that's not possible, take at least a little 2 minutes to put "me-time" on your agenda.
These simple things will bring you a little happiness, but above all will allow you to dissipate cortisol, this devastating hormone produced by stress. Listening to your body and taking care of yourself not only increases your productivity, but also makes you feel more serene.
I have prepared a little test for you to measure your stress level. So go take a look at it, to see if a little self-care is more than necessary!
