Classic Gingerbread Sablé Recipe

Festive gourmet cookies: a delight for young bakers, a treat for refined tastes

There’s an undeniable magic in the air during the holiday season. The twinkling lights, the laughter of children, and the scent of freshly baked cookies. Yet, amidst all this joy, there’s often an underlying feeling of stress. We’re bombarded with expectations: creating the perfect Christmas, finding memorable gifts, and preparing dishes worthy of top chefs. And I found myself wondering, in the midst of this whirlwind, how can we return to what really matters and savor the art of living?

The answer often lies in simple gestures, like making classic shortbread cookies. These cookies, filled with childhood memories, remind us that joy is found in simplicity. When I was young, my grandmother and I would spend hours in her kitchen, flour in our hair, shaping Christmas cookies. She taught me how to carefully mix the ingredients, patiently wait for them to bake to a golden brown, and share these delights with those we loved. It was more than just a recipe; it was a ritual that brought us closer.

First, there’s the magic of the ingredients. To make these shortbreads, all you need are a few quality basics: fresh butter, sugar, flour, and a pinch of salt. But it’s not so much the recipe that matters, it’s the intention behind every step. Baking cookies is about giving a part of yourself, investing in the present moment. The dough becomes a canvas on which you can express your creativity, adding spices, citrus zest, or even dark chocolate shards for a personal touch.

Then, the beauty lies in the sharing. Once baked, these cookies aren’t meant to be eaten alone. They invite us to gather around the table, exchange stories, and savor every bite. What could be more heartwarming than offering a homemade cookie to a friend or family member, accompanied by a smile? These little treats become symbols of warmth and generosity.

With this in mind, I invite you to try our classic shortbread recipe, a true homage to tradition. Picture yourself mixing the ingredients, rolling the dough on the countertop, and cutting out shapes with cookie cutters that evoke the magic of Christmas. Each cookie becomes a piece of art, a small gift to yourself and those around you.

To make the experience even more enjoyable, I encourage you to explore our selection of mixing bowls and cookie cutters. Not only are they functional, but they also bring a touch of elegance to your kitchen. By investing in these tools, you’re giving yourself the gift of transforming every baking moment into a memorable experience, filled with laughter and sharing.

01. The Louvre

Here, the blend of tradition and grandeur is appreciated, making the Louvre an essential starting point. Home to thousands of works, from ancient sculptures to Renaissance paintings, the Louvre offers a journey through centuries of artistic evolution. Be sure to visit the Salle des Etats to admire Leonardo da Vinci’s mysterious Mona Lisa, and explore the Galerie d’Apollon for a taste of opulent French grandeur.

Pro tip:
Arrive early to beat the crowds and take a guided tour for in-depth looks at the museum's extensive collection.

Fun Fact:
Did you know that during World War II, the Louvre’s priceless works were evacuated to various châteaux across France to protect them from Nazi pillage? The kind of heritage management we appreciate, right?

UNE TOUCHE FESTIVE

This season, don’t just bake cookies. Celebrate life, creativity, and love through every bite. Let the kitchen become the heart of your home, where each classic shortbread evokes memories and creates new moments of happiness.

Conseils Pratiques

Artistic appreciation

It's not for nothing that we always see magnificent bouquets of flowers on all the most beautiful magazine covers. Although adding flowers to the home can bring beauty, freshness and joy, it is often considered a luxury due to its cost, maintenance and fleeting nature.

But... any self-respecting stylist has a minimum of 3 formats of beautiful vases meticulously chosen at home to take advantage of summer flowers and bring them indoors.

Their trick: choosing neutral colors and classic styles so you can make the most of them in almost any room.

préparation
