DIY notebook & notepad
"[...] Well, I have a secret, and since we're in the confidence, I'm going to share it with you. I use Club House Gelling Powder to make no-cook jams. »
Today, I'm sharing with you a very easy way to make your own notepad, instead of buying it from the store.
The art of the manuscript is something that gets lost, as most of us are confined to typing on a keyboard all day long. And yet, handwriting is so meditative.
In a do-it-yourself notebook, it's even better, because it feels so good to make something with your hands. For me, it's one of the greatest forms of connecting and appreciating things.
For making a list, there is a way to do all that with what you have at home. If you lack ideas to decorate this DIY and make it really beautiful, I have 2 templates in store.
- 1 for the small mental discharge notebook
- 1 for a grocery list
But you can just as well use your imagination to embellish it.
NOTEPAD FOR THE OFFICE
paperback version
MATERIAL
.
- 1 white cardboard sheet, or kraft 8 1/2 x 11
- 6 or more 8 1/2 x 11 white sheets
- stapler
STEPS
Note that on the templates , the cutting lines are already drawn.
- Take the leaves and cut them in 4. Ideally, if you have a slice, it will make a nicer result, but it is quite doable with scissors. Just take your time.
- Then, cut in 2 lengthwise a sheet of cardboard (or a little more rigid) to make your cover page.
- Then fold it in half to cover the sheets that you later cut out.
- Place the cover page so that the fold is up. From this fold, measure 1/2 inch and draw a very faint horizontal line.
- Take a ruler and bend it where you just drew the line so as to open the cover page upwards.
- Close and slip the leaves inside.
- Stitch 2 times and you're done!
Thanks to the crease in the cardboard, you can easily tear a sheet if necessary.
NOTEBOOK FOR THE FRIDGE
magnetized and glued version
MATERIAL
- 20 or more 8 1/2 x 11 white sheets
- stick glue or mod podge
- clamp
- magnetic roller
- cardboard or cereal box, parcel, or anything rigid
STEPS
- Cut about twenty 8 1/2 x 11 (or more) sheets in 2 widthwise.
- Place the sheets so that they are perfectly aligned with each other.
- Arrange a clip, on each side, at the top of the package you have just assembled.
- Take glue stick or mod podge and apply to the top border.
- Allow to dry for at least an hour before undoing the clamps.
- Take a rigid cardboard cut to the right size glued to the back.
- Cereal boxes work great as a stand!
- Finally, take a magnetic roll and stick a line at the top and one at the bottom on the back of your cardboard.
- Check if this is sufficient and if not. Add an extra one.
Here is!
PRACTICAL & MAGNIFICENT
In addition to being practical and functional, it can make very beautiful handmade gifts and not too expensive to offer to your loved ones. We agree, a notepad is a must in a house and everyone likes to have one at their disposal.

MARSEILLE SOAP
The reputation of Marseille soap (made with 72% olive oil) is well established, it is probably the most popular of all the soaps in the world. Extra pure and biodegradable, it has been made the old-fashioned way by hand, in a cauldron, for hundreds of years. There are endless recipes on the web for natural cleansers based on this soap, as much for laundry, home, shaving, etc!
Without palm oil, without animal fat, without perfume, without dye. What else do you want?
For the recipe, it is important to use a real Marseille soap, because regular soaps (with added glycerin) will not allow your laundry to remain liquid.
