The Best Homemade All-Purpose Cleaner
“The real secret of happiness is to take a genuine interest in all the details of daily life.

So I'm giving you my tried and tested all-purpose homemade cleaner recipe that I've been using for a few years. Simple, economical and rewarding, you will be amazed!
INGREDIENTS
.
- 1/2 cup (125ml) distilled white vinegar
- 1 cup (250ml) of water
- 20 drops of essential oils
- 1 glass spray bottle
STEPS
1. Combine all ingredients in the spray bottle.
2. Be sure to shake well before using on all everyday surfaces.
TIP : As vinegar tends to break down plastic, a glass bottle will be ideal for this recipe.
THE WORLD'S BEST TRICK
The biggest problem with homemade cleaning products is that they are often made from vinegar and the smell is, in my opinion, really unbearable. So, to remedy the situation, I add peels and leftover citrus fruits (we accumulate them beforehand in a Mason jar in the freezer) and, sometimes, even branches of conifers or other aromatic plants such as rosemary that I let marinate in a tightly closed container with white vinegar for 2 to 3 weeks. I then filter, to keep only the vinegar and add it to my natural cleanser recipe. It works wonders, I swear!

MARSEILLE SOAP
The reputation of Marseille soap (made with 72% olive oil) is well established, it is probably the most popular of all the soaps in the world. Extra pure and biodegradable, it has been made the old-fashioned way by hand, in a cauldron, for hundreds of years. There are endless recipes on the web for natural cleansers based on this soap, as much for laundry, home, shaving, etc!
Without palm oil, without animal fat, without perfume, without dye. What else do you want?
For the recipe, it is important to use a real Marseille soap, because regular soaps (with added glycerin) will not allow your laundry to remain liquid.
INGREDIENTS
.
- 1/2 cup (125ml) distilled white vinegar
- 1 cup (250ml) of water
- 20 drops of essential oils
- 1 glass spray bottle
STEPS
1. Combine all ingredients in the spray bottle.
2. Be sure to shake well before using on all everyday surfaces.
TIP : As vinegar tends to break down plastic, a glass bottle will be ideal for this recipe.
STEPS
1. Boil water in a saucepan.
2. Add grated soap to boiling water, stir well.
3. Once the soap has completely melted, turn off the heat.
4. Off the heat, add the baking soda and the soda crystals.
5. Leave to stand and stir occasionally to loosen foam and prevent mixture from settling.
6. Once the detergent is very cold, remove the excess foam and pour into a jug.
OPTIONAL : Add a few drops of essential oils.
LITTLE TIP: Shake well before each use and enjoy the happiness of a homemade product, made with love! Looking forward to hearing your impressions :)
