Mindfulness

How to ease his mind, when his head is full!

“In the last few weeks, I found myself completely exhausted. So much that I wanted to go to a desert island, just to have peace of mind. So many things were going on in my personal life at the same time; I had become an empty pitcher trying to cool everyone down in the middle of a heat wave! »

You can tell if you filled out my survey here . I have lots of new projects for Sur mon x. But I don't have time. You know, life does not stop and it remains our duty to equip ourselves well in the face of stress and to act appropriately.

SMALL RESOLUTIONS
I took a day just for me and it did me good, I was able to put things into perspective. I've decided not to add new vintage items online by the end of the summer and to space out the newsletters. I know you'll miss me, but in the fall you'll freak out! And, in addition, to make room for all the new stuff that's coming, I've put a lot of items in the sales section .

I didn't listen to my limits; I let things go. It happens sometimes, but since there is a major difference between taking care of yourself and having to recover, I made a promise to myself to act daily.

Afterwards, I started to see the magic again in all the little things around me. Of course, when the daily hassles, the to-do list and the incessant demands of others are omnipresent, one becomes so engrossed that it becomes difficult to see even the smallest shred of joy. But, there are plenty of tricks to learn how to manage it. Today I'm going to give you my favorite tip to start calming restless spirits. In addition to being the most accessible at all times, it's free!!!!!

FULL CONSCIOUSNESS
We all know the proven benefits of meditation. I do it on occasion, but I admit that I don't always take the time to practice it. Mindfulness, on the other hand, is really my thing. As it allows you to enter a meditative state to focus on the present moment, you can feel the effects regardless of the place and time of day.

I apply this technique as much as I can in all spheres of my daily life and it's one of the reasons why I choose to surround myself only with things that I really like. Yes, because each of the small objects that I own serve as my anchor point. When I use them, they bring me back to the present moment. By paying attention to the sensations, to the color of the coffee, to the sound of the spoon brushing against the porcelain cup, to the heat of the beverage..., suddenly, nothing else exists.

There is only one thing that matters: what we are doing. It allows the brain a break, a small buffer space, a breath. And the more we develop the ability to include it in our lives, the more we fill our glass, the stress evaporates a little and we are able to feel more joy.

Just telling you about it has done me a lot of good.

MARSEILLE SOAP
The reputation of Marseille soap (made with 72% olive oil) is well established, it is probably the most popular of all the soaps in the world. Extra pure and biodegradable, it has been made the old-fashioned way by hand, in a cauldron, for hundreds of years. There are endless recipes on the web for natural cleansers based on this soap, as much for laundry, home, shaving, etc!

Without palm oil, without animal fat, without perfume, without dye. What else do you want?

For the recipe, it is important to use a real Marseille soap, because regular soaps (with added glycerin) will not allow your laundry to remain liquid.

STEPS

1. Boil water in a saucepan.
2. Add grated soap to boiling water, stir well.
3. Once the soap has completely melted, turn off the heat.
4. Off the heat, add the baking soda and the soda crystals.
5. Leave to stand and stir occasionally to loosen foam and prevent mixture from settling.
6. Once the detergent is very cold, remove the excess foam and pour into a pitcher.

OPTIONAL : Add a few drops of essential oils.

LITTLE TIP: Shake well before each use and enjoy the happiness of a homemade product, made with love! Looking forward to hearing your impressions :)

“The secret to happiness is to take a genuine interest in all the details of daily life. »
